Our Story, Legal Charter, & Moral Constitution
Founded on the conviction that no community can adapt to modern challenges without both ecological stability and technological parity.
Why SETU Foundation Exists
Bangladesh stands at one of the world's most critical geographic fault-lines of climate vulnerability. From rising saline tides invading delta farmlands in the southwest to catastrophic flash flooding across the northeastern haor basin, millions of rural families navigate existential environmental stress every year.
At the exact same time, a second, equally defining divide has emerged: technological marginalization. While global innovation surges forward in automation, software engineering, and artificial intelligence, thousands of talented youth in Bangladesh's peri-urban and rural schools lack regular access to computer hardware, internet infrastructure, or structured programming instruction.
"Environmental degradation threatens physical survival; technological illiteracy traps the next generation in generational poverty. To build true human resilience, we must bridge both."
— Founding Resolution of the SETU SecretariatIn 2026, a dedicated collective of environmentalists, software engineers, and community organizers formally established SETU Foundation for Environmental & Technological Upliftment (সেতু ফাউন্ডেশন). The organization was incorporated as a formal non-profit society with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), Dhaka, under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act XXI of 1860).

Mission & Vision
The compass that directs our volunteer operations, community projects, and research.
Our Mission
To mobilize volunteers, scientific knowledge, and open technology to restore degraded ecosystems, protect vulnerable populations from climate calamities, and equip underprivileged youth with competitive digital skills that open global economic opportunities.
Our Vision
A resilient Bangladesh where climate-threatened delta communities stand securely protected by lush native ecological buffers, and where every motivated child, regardless of socio-economic origin, possesses the digital literacy to innovate, create, and lead in the 21st-century knowledge economy.
Our Four Core Values
Guiding every field initiative, student workshop, and resource expenditure.
1. Uncompromised Integrity
Absolute fiduciary honesty. Every donation received is logged in public financial ledgers subjected to statutory annual audit.
2. Environmental Stewardship
Prioritizing indigenous biodiversity and long-term ecological balance over cosmetic or short-lived planting stunts.
3. Equitable Innovation
Technology must not remain the luxury of the affluent. We bring cutting-edge computing tools directly to marginalized students.
4. Community Accountability
Grassroots residents are equal partners, co-designers, and custodians of all environmental and technological projects we deploy.
